Canvas Prints (unframed) Format Explained

  • Your chosen image is professionally printed direct to gallery standard deep edged canvas using very high quality lightand fade proof inks.
  • The canvas is then wrapped & tensioned over a 1.8mm deep gallery standard frame.
  • Please note that cheaper canvas prints are often prone to warping and sagging due to non kiln dried materials being used.
  • The canvas arrives with a grip fixing on the reverse for easy hanging over a nail or screw. This presents the picture neat & flush to your wall.

Giclee Prints Format Explained

  • A Giclee print is a high resolution print of the original painting.
  • Prints are produced with an HD printer using light fast pigment inks as opposed to dye based ink.
  • The High definition printer used can produce a far wider spectrum of colour and vibrancy.
  • Printing is on archival Fine Art, textured papers which are acid free & light fast, so no fading for over 90 years.
  • A border is left around the image to allow for framing.
  • Titled & signed on the border by Andy and arrives in a protective postal tube or flat in cardboard.
  • Please handle Giclee prints very carefully as the ink is almost powdery on the surface and is easily marked.
  • A framer will know how to put your print in a suitable frame.

Framed Prints Format Explained

  • Prints are presented in white mounts & surrounded in a simple 2.5cm thick matt black frame. All are titled & signed on the mount by Andy.
  • Sizes upwards of Large are normally presented in a 3.5cm thick frame.
  • All Andy’s work suits black as it really ‘pops’ the colours out. Frames are all ready to hang easily, with a grip fixing on the reverse.
  • Alternative frame profiles, colours & sizes/finishes be arranged, just get in touch.

Block Mounted Prints Format Explained

  • Professionally printed direct to photographic paper & laminated to 8mm thick black edged board.
  • Specialist lamination heat bonds the print to board & is UV light proof / archival protecting the print for at least 100 years.
  • Block mounting is an unusual and very contemporary style of presentation, particularly suiting Andy’s work.
  • Blocks have a sunken keyhole hanger on the reverse making them easy and ready to hang, flush with your wall
  • Or can be presented free standing on a shelf for example.

Mounted / Matted Prints (Ready To Frame) Format Explained

  • Prints are fixed to white acid free mount/matte board.
    This provides the border around the image for framing.
  • Titled & signed on the mount by Andy.
  • Comes with a hard backing board & cellophane protective sleeve.
  • There are only a few sizes available as postage costs and risk of damage with larger sizes are too high.
  • Unframed prints can be purchased in larger sizes and your local framer can mount for you when framing.

An original atmospheric seascape / landscape painting of Seilebost Beach on the Hebridean Island of Harris.
A mix of mediums are blended, layered, sprayed, scraped and splattered over the canvas to produce a very unique & atmospheric painting.

My landscape paintings of Scotland aim to depict the ever changing wild weather that constantly sweeps across Scotland’s Hebridean islands & Highlands from The Atlantic.

I love to combine & layer different types of paint & application of mediums including spray paint, oil paint, acrylic & others.

This combination creates a unique style of atmospheric painting full of vibrant colour & drama.

This painting has been created with some semi neon spray paint giving a luminous glowing effect when seen in the flesh.

The painting continues around the deep edges of the canvas. This style gives a very contemporary effect when hung flush to a wall.

This painting can be framed if you wish, just get in touch.
